BEES UNITED HAVE ARRANGED ELECTION "HUSTINGS" to be held on Saturday 18 September, after the Port Vale home fixture.

The "Hustings" are linked to the forthcoming election to choose a fourth Bees United nomination for appointment to the Brentford Football Club Board of Directors, and will be held in the Sponsors' Lounge at Griffin Park commencing at 5.45pm, aiming for completion by 7.30pm.

Due to limited space in The Sponsors' Lounge, supporters are urged to arrive early to avoid disappointment. The Sponsors' Lounge is on the Braemar Road side of the ground.

Since the deadline date, one candidate has withdrawn his name, leaving the following six supporters in the ballot for the position of a Trust-nominated Club Director:

  • Mark Chapman
  • Ron Cooper
  • Tony Cross
  • Jon Gosling
  • Graham Hall
  •  John Huggins
    • It is hoped that as many of the candidates as possible will be on hand to answer questions from supporters and spell out their vision for Brentford FC.

The "Hustings" will be chaired by Bees United Chairman Brian Burgess. Candidates will be invited to give a short initial address. This will be followed by an opportunity for questions from the supporters present. Election documentation is currently being prepared for despatch to the Bees United members. The closing date for the receipt of votes will be 29th September 2004.

This opportunity for a further director is under the terms of Bees United's Loan Agreement with Brentford FC. Bees United loans to Brentford FC now exceed £330,000, and this cash is helping to keep the Club out of administration.

The elected candidate will be nominated to join three existing Bees United nominees on the club board: John McGlashan, Andrew Wainwright and Stephen Callen.
