Thank you all so much for taking the time to complete our survey and to those of you who shared your email addresses!
Here you can see that of the BU Members who did complete our survey, all 672 of you, we do have an older demographic with nearly 39% of you aged between 45 and 64 and 56% over 65.
To the nearest whole figure this is the same as last year!
This year we asked if our members are aged over 75 and we are delighted that our most senior contingent amounts to 20%
A big thank you to our International Members who give feedback – nearly 10% of BU Members are overseas, with most from the USA!
How can we ask ladies to join BU, sadly we are very much a male group with only 11% females – and we would love to see far more younger fans too! What are we going to do?
BU members are a very loyal group of fans.
Here you can see how long our BU Season Ticket Holders have been Bees fana, and it is amazing!
It is very much the same for all the Member categories too!
More than 80% of you, Season Ticket Holders and Members together, have been a fan for longer than 6 years and more than 60% have supported the Bees for more than 11 seasons,
Next year we might need to ask if you have supported the Bees for longer than maybe 15 and 20 years!
And, we would love to have your stories to share with us all.
All that said, even though you may have been Bees fans for a very long time, and many of you long before Gtech, does that mean that you go to lots of matches?
Well, the answer is that you certainly do!
Nearly half, or 44% of you say you attend each home match and over a quarter of you will be at more than 15 games each year. You could only chose one answer.
70% of you go to at least 15 matches at Gtech with nearly half of you shouting for the Bees at each match
And
Lots of you travel away – what can be done to help more of you get the away bug?
Given our older demographic, we do know that is becomes hard to travel away, but in general, BU members like to travel away (please tell the rest!).
These figures reflect this season and last but as you can see, over 30% of you have been to at least 9 away games and over 35% of you are travelling more than twice.
Next month
We are going to share what you told us you think – with over 3,500 different comments we have been taking time reading everything so we can learn what to focus on and how to respond. One thing did seem to be clear though, which is that the vast majority of you did not feel that the increase of 5% in the season ticket price (5% across the board – juniors no increase) was unreasonable. This was similar for those of you who have premium lounge access although a minority did feel that those increases were quite steep.
