On Monday May 1st 2006, Rod Gowers offered his resignation from the Bees United Board.

Although in this case, as in similar cases, no decision was made by the Board immediately – to allow for any reconsideration and for the BU Board to discuss the matter at its next Board meeting, we have today reluctantly accepted Rod's resignation.

Rod has spent countless hours planning, organising and taking part in many fundraising initiatives as well as being a committed member of the Bees United Board in the months before and after the takeover of the majority shareholding of the club.

Naturally the Board is concerned that Rod has expressed dissatisfaction with areas of the Trust's performance and will discuss his concerns at the next BU Board Meeting, so that the Board can work, and be seen to work as effectively as possible.

Rod is keen to continue the excellent work on the fundraising side of the trust, but not in an official capacity, and we respect his wishes.

We would all like to thank Rod for the time and effort he has put into the Board work and look forward to him helping us in the fundraising efforts going forward.
