The Gloryhunter – Spencer Austin – is walking to Wycombe this Saturday in order to raise funds for Bees United.

Spencer is spending the entire 2008-09 season following a team until they lose – then switching his allegiance to the winning team. After his adopted team, Grimsby, received 4-0 mauling at Griffin Park, he has chronicled his time at Griffin Park; getting to know the local pubs and curry houses with Bees supporters, and has even spent time in the Directors Box for Brentford’s victory on penalties against Yeovil Town.

Commenting on the walk via his blog, he wrote: “Now, I promised I’d walk to Wycombe, and I’m a man of my word. So, 27 miles next Saturday and I expect my entire lower leg areas to become an enormous blood blister. There could be so much blood coming out of my feet that it’ll be proclaimed tidal.”

The Trust is delighted that Spencer is undertaking this task and wish him and all the walkers that join him the very best of luck.
