Yesterday (Wednesday) was the last day for applications to be submitted for the forthcoming Bees United board elections.

Board member Mark Chapman, who was elected by members in September 2006, has decided to resign and put himself forward as a candidate for re-election ahead of yesterday's deadline. As a result, he has also stood down from the Electoral Working Group, who oversees the election process.

The candidates will be announced in full on this website this Friday (October 10).

The timetable for this year's election is as follows:

  • Candidates names announced on the BU Web Site: 10 October
  • Questions invited for Q+A Session with candidates: 14 October
  • Cut off date for questions: 23 October
  • Candidates advised of questions: 24 October
  • Cut off date for responses: 31 October
  • Answers posted on Bees United Website: 3 November
  • Cut off date for receipt of votes: 13 November
  • AGM results announced 22 November
