Notices will be sent out shortly for the Bees United AGM which will be held this year on Saturday 20 November.

The meeting, in Stripes Bar, will commence at 11.00am.

Contained within the notice will be requests for nominations for elections to the Bees United Board.

Two members are standing down as they have served their normal office term of three years and will be eligible to seek re-election. These are Stephen Callen the Society's Finance Director and Bruce Powell our Secretary. In addition Bees United Board member Paul Stedman has decided to stand down because of pressure of work and other commitments.

As a result there will be elections for three places on the board. Nominations will be invited from any fully paid-up member, aged over 18, of Bees United.

Nominations will need to be with the Society by 20 October, and nominees will be invited to produce an address of no more than 500 words.

The Society Board currently consists of nine elected members and four co-opted members.
The elected members, at present, are: Brian Burgess (Chair), Stephen Callen, Alan Fowler, John Huggins, John McGlashan, Bruce Powell, Peter Smith, Paul Stedman and Andrew Wainwright.

In addition there are four co-opted members of the society: Peter Johnston, and three representatives of the Loan Note holders, Joe Bourke, John Anderson and Matt Dolman (representing BIAS, the Brentford Independent Association of Supporters).

The Loan Note holders are rotated on an annual basis with one standing down each year. This year Joe Bourke will be standing down and seeking re-election as the Loan Note Holders' representative. This election will be taking place at The Loan Note Holders' AGM which will immediately follow the Bees United AGM.

Bees United are delighted to announce that it is also co-opting on to the board a representative of the Lifeline Society in order to establish closer links between the two organisations, accordingly Brian Sawyer has joined the Bees United Board as the Lifeline representative.

Speaking about these changes, the Bees United Chair, Brian Burgess said: "Obviously I am sorry that the Board is losing such a dedicated member as Paul, and I would like to thank him for all his hard-work and commitment. Paul is instrumental in our efforts to improve the means of communication to our members and I am pleased that he is committed to continue supporting Bees United and to contributing to our work.

Elections such as the one coming up are important, as they help to underpin the legitimacy of Bees United in representing Brentford supporters, and it is an opportunity for fans to get involved in shaping the future of their Football Club."
