He will also resign from Brentford FC board of directors plus its subsidiary Griffin Park Stadium Limited, leaving to take up a position within the club’s communications department.

Mark was elected to the Bees United board in September 2006 and was also appointed a Brentford FC director in June 2010 as one of three directors representing the trust.

Bees United Chairman David Merritt said “Mark has been a critical part of the BU board for many years, and his hard work and dedication, his knowledge and expertise, and his ability to focus on the real issues led to his fellows on the BU board to select him to represent them on the BFC Board. There is no greater accolade.

I am therefore torn between being disappointed to lose him as a colleague on the Boards of BU and BFC, and being very pleased (as a Director of the Football Club) to have him join the team at Griffin Park.

The trust board now comprises David Merritt (Chairman), Nick Bruzon, Trevor Inns, Greville Waterman, Donald Kerr, Peter Skeggs, David Carpenter and Andre Sawyer.
