for the following purposes:-

  • Chairman’s Welcome and confirmation of the minutes of the 14th Annual General Meeting.
  • Chairman’s Report on Members
  • Society Board Elections
  • Any other Business

As RESOLUTIONS

To receive and adopt the Society’s Annual Report and Accounts for the year ending 30th June 2015.
To dispense with the requirement for each member to receive written notice of future AGM’s.

Following the formal AGM Agenda, there will be a question and answer session allowing BU Members to put questions to the BU Board.

Board Election

This year there were two Board Positions to be filled which arose through the retirement by rotation of David Merritt and Donald Kerr. We are pleased to confirm that both David and Donald have stood for re-election. In addition, Stephen Walter and Bill Hagerty have also stood for election and it is therefore proposed by the Bees United Board to increase the number of Board Members to enable election of all four Candidates.

Accounts and Minutes

Copies of last year’s AGM Minutes and accounts will be available at the AGM and will also be posted on the BU Website as soon as possible.

BU AGM Notices

We have been investigating methods by which to reduce the costs associated with written communication to our members. Howevever, even having explored cheaper suppliers, we are still looking at spending several thousands of pounds each year on mail outs. This costs comes from BU membership contributions and we would rather put that money to better use.

In light of the fact that the majority of our members have accss to email and the internet, we are therefore proposing a resolution to remove the requirement for written notice of future Annual General Meetings. Notice will instead be given via the Bees United website and via email communication to our membership.
