BEES UNITED NEWSLETTER
MAY 2021

PROMOTION SPECIAL

All the joy, happiness and relief felt by Brentford supporters around the world is summed up in this one picture. ‘We are Premier League’ at last and back in the top tier for the first time since 1947. And don’t we deserve it.

In this special, which goes out to 2,650 members (a special welcome to those who’ve joined since Saturday) we report from Wembley and from Denmark, we look back to that amazing Bournemouth match and we talk to the Bees fan with the closest-up view, club photographer Mark Fuller. In a bumper edition we also report on the success of our women’s teams. All this has happened on the 20th anniversary of Bees United so we’ve got a few words and pictures about our own piece of history.

PREPARE FOR LIFT-OFF TO THE PREM

Our coverage starts, where else, at Wembley on Saturday in the Brentford fans end where Bees United contributing editor Bill Hagerty, with wife Liz Vercoe on camera beside him, was savouring every special moment. Thomas Frank wasn’t the only one in mid-air.

Having lost his wife Miriam to COVID at Christmas Grev has written a very personal essay about Brentford’s ‘most loving and supportive of families’.

Reactions from other BU members around the world:
Australia - I saw Brentford go down in 1946-47. I believe that this would not have been possible without all the time and effort supplied by hundreds of volunteers.
Germany - ‘This is one of those days that we live for’
Israel - We did it. See you at Lionel Road next season, in the bloody prem!!!!
