‘WATCH THIS SPACE’

The words of Brentford Chairman Cliff Crown at the Bees United AGM sum up the anticipation among fans at the potential signing of Christian Eriksen. This month we’ve got that video clip and the other AGM highlights and we hear from one of Brentford’s existing ‘Danish colony’ and our Swedish captain on what it is like living near a bus stop in Hounslow. We also remember a BU stalwart and 30 years on from the famous 1992 promotion thriller we find out how one squad member has ended up living in El Dorado.

IS ERIKSEN BOUND FOR THE BEES?

It was a busy Monday. The Club released the accounts for last season, Bees United held its AGM and The Athletic reported; ‘Brentford have offered Christian Eriksen a six-month contract with the option for a further year'. The former Tottenham mid-fielder suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s European Championships and has not played since. At the Bees United AGM Stewart Purvis asked Brentford FC Chairman Cliff Crown about the report.

WELCOME TO THE ‘DANISH COLONY’?

Part of the attraction of Brentford to Eriksen could be that we have Danish coaches and he could play alongside fellow Danish internationals Norgaard and Jensen. There are also the younger Danes seen celebrating at Wembley : Bidstrup, Roerslev, Racic and Sorensen, and now Jonas Lossl too. Mads Roerslev recently talked to a Danish podcast who wanted to know about life inside the 'Danish colony' at Brentford. We have an exclusive translation.

On 3 January 2022 a person entered the ‘fan-shed’ in the BU/BFC exhibition at the London Museum of Water and Steam and removed the two gnomes last seen in the right hand corner of the display. If you have any information please email admin@beesunited.org.uk.

Any new versions of jokes about contacting the Gnome Office etc are welcome. The exhibition continues with or without the gnomes until the end of the season. IMAGE OF THE MONTH

A serious one this month. Mas Patel is a lawyer and Liverpool fan who lives in London. Travelling back on the train from Anfield he and his son were racially abused by a group of Brentford fans. But another fan defended him against the group. Can you help Mr Patel find him to thank him?
