After that last minute victory at Watford the Bees travelling fans head for Manchester United in a confident mood. We’ve got a bumper Bank Holiday edition with articles on the growing fame of Brentford from Denmark, Germany, Norway and Spain plus a video from Ireland. THANKING THOSE WHO FOUGHT FOR A NEW STADIUM
Among those invited by the club on special tours of the stadium were those activists like Paul Stedman who campaigned for a new ground in the days when Ron Noades owned Brentford. Paul helped us remember those on the tour who once stood for election to the local council as part of an eventually successful campaign.
FANS PROMISED NEW VOICE IN PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS NEXT SEASON
Responding to the Government's latest plans for football the Premier League has promised that by next season there will be new ways for fans’ voices to be heard. How does that compare with the current situation at Brentford ?
The Bees squad who got Brentford promoted 30 years ago this coming month will be back for a reunion that will revive memories of a party night at Griffin Park in 1992.
After consultation with BU and BIAS, BFC members hoping to buy a season ticket will be invited to do so if by 10th April they had at least 1,100 TAPs and had attended at least ten Premier League matches, at least five of which should have been at home.To encourage younger members there will also be some season tickets for under 18s who’d been to at least 8 Premier League matches at home.
The 2022-23 Premier League season will start on 6th August.There will be a break for the World Cup in Qatar from mid-November to Boxing Day and the season won’t finish until the end of May.
The Bees United exhibition at the London Museum of Water and Steam will be open for just one more home match day, on May 7th against Southampton.
According to a Mail on Sunday poll of fans of Premier League clubs, Brentford’s owner Matthew Benham has the highest approval rating among fans at 98.8 per cent.
