As part of our commitment to keep supporters informed the team working on the Lionel Road project for Brentford Football Club has provided the following progress report:
Mark Chapman has joined the board of Brentford Football Club (BFC). Mark, who was elected to the Bees United (BU) board by the Supporters' Trust's members, was unanimously nominated by his fellow BU directors.
What have Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Brentford got in common? The answer is that they’re all owned by their fans. For the next four years at least, supporters’ trust Bees United controls the majority of shares in Brentford Football Club.
Members and other supporters have been asking about Bees United’s policies and objectives over the next few years, now the Supporters’ Trust has completed the formalities of its partnership with Matthew Benham.
Bees United intends to raise £1 million before the end of the 2013/2014 season by increasing its membership, asking its members to contribute more than their basic subscription, and organising some major fundraising events.
Bees United are pleased to confirm that their partnership with Bees fan Matthew Benham, first announced last summer and subsequently ratified by the overwhelming majority of Bees United members, has now been finalised.
