The Trust board has announced the 2007 Bees United election timetable. The current Board consists of:

Brian Burgess Chairman (elected by members)
Trevor Inns Deputy Chairman/Finance Director (elected by members)
Mark Chapman Communications (elected by members)
Chris Gammon Co. Secretary (co-opted) 1
Natasha Judge Director of Fund Raising (elected by members)
Bruce Powell Membership Secretary (elected by members)
Joe Bourke (co-opted) 1
Stephen Callen (elected by members)
Matt Dolman (elected by members)
David Hawes (elected by members)
David Merritt (co-opted) 2
Brian Sawyer (co-opted)
Paul Stedman (co-opted) 1

1 – (co-opted) by loan note holders
2 – co opted under casual vacancy rules following resignation of previous board member

2007 Vacancies

There are three vacancies for election to the Bees United Board. Two of the vacancies are created by the need for Stephen Callen and Bruce Powell to stand down in accordance with the Society’s rules.

In addition Allison Franklin stood down in March this year, with David Merritt filling the vacancy in accordance with society rules up until this annual election. All are eligible to stand for re-election if they so wish. Bruce has indicated that he will not be standing.

Nominations for election to the Board are now requested. If you would like to nominate yourself as a candidate please complete the nomination form together with a personal profile of not more than 500 words, and return by post or email This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .

Nominations must be received no later than 10am, Friday 5 October. All members over the age of 18 as of 19 September 2007 are eligible for election.

A note of key dates currently envisaged in respect of the election is as follows:

Closing Date for receipt of nominations and statement: Friday 5th October
Ballot Papers mailed to members: Thursday 11th October
On line Q & A session for candidates: 22nd Oct – 5th Nov
Voting cut off date: Monday 12th November
Results announced (at AGM): Saturday 17th November
