Do your bit for Brentford and the Environment: Help raise money for Bees United! £1,930 raised since the start of the scheme! BEE GREEN - PRINTER CARTRIDGES Every year, tens of millions of empty printer inkjet and toner cartridges are thrown away in the UK. Most end up in landfill waste sites where up to 1,000 years can pass before they even begin to decompose. This is now recognised as a major environmental problem. The vast majority of these products can be recycled, and therefore have a financial value that can be recognised for the benefit of BEES UNITED. BEES UNITED have launched a cartridge recycling scheme. The scheme covers all printer, fax and photocopier cartridges. Simply save your old cartridges, ideally in the box the replacement was supplied in, and bring them along to the collection points at Brentford FC. Collection points are in the Braemar Road forecourt and outside the Brook Road turnstiles.
BEE GREEN MOBILE! Have you ever bought a mobile phone? Do you still have the old one? Do you know some one who has bought a replacement phone or is getting one for Christmas? If you do please read on and if you don’t read on anyway! Every year, fifteen million new mobile phones get purchased in the UK with a million of these being purchased over the Christmas Period. Most of the phones that they replace end up in landfill waste sites where the dangerous metals, including cadmium, nickel and lithium, can leak into the environment, including the water supply. This is now recognised as a major environmental problem. The vast majority of these products can be recycled, and have a financial value that can be recognised for the benefit of Bees United. Bees United has launched a mobile phone recycling scheme covering all mobile phones, chargers and batteries. Simply bring them bring them along bundled together, in a plastic bag or original box, to the collection point in Reception at Brentford FC. Even if they are not working they still can be recycled. Please do not put the phones in the printer cartridge bins outside! If you have 10 or more phones then arrangements can be made for them to be collected. Collection point: Brentford FC (Reception), Griffin Park, Braemar Road, Brentford Monday – Friday, 9am – 5 pm and match days Please do look around home to find that old phone you never use and bring it in. Do not stop at bringing in the old mobile phones yourself. Encourage friends, family, the firm that you work for or your college or school to participate in the scheme. By saving these phones you will be helping to protect the environment and to ensure the survival Brentford FC - so that it can continue its work in the local community.
